RALPH KEYES
---------------
Nearly every seat in the Congregational church was occupied Monday afternoon during the funeral services of Ralph Keyes, an evidence of the esteem in which he was held, and of the universal sympathy of our people for the bereaved parents and relatives. Rev. Mr. Barrett, pastor of the church had charge of the services and preached the discourse.
Music was furnished by Miss Marguerite Sutherland, Mrs. Harry Rundle, Karl W. Kendall and Donald Christie, with Miss Lizzie Marshall as organist. The services were appropriate and very impressive.
The following is a brief sketch of his life:
Ralph Everett Keyes, son of Mr. and Mrs. A.J. Keyes, was born in this city Nov. 1, 1895. Here he grew to manhood, known and loved of all. He graduated from the high school with the class of 1914. After graduation he spent one year in business, loved by all his associates.
In the fall of 1915 he enrolled as a freshman at the University of Wisconsin. He was taken sick May 4, and died June 30, aged 20 years, 7 months and 29 days. He leaves a father and mother, a half sister, Mrs. Louise Stoner of Minneapolis, and many other kindred, besides a large circle of loving friends to mourn his loss.
The floral tributes, of which there were many, were silent testimonials of the universal esteem in which he was held.
Interment was in Oak Shade cemetery. --Pingrey & Co. in charge.
