Former Merchant, Daniel Parkhurst, Dead; Buried Here

Daniel Parkhurst, 66, former grocer here in Marion and a veteran commercial traveler, well known in this city and through this section of Iowa, died suddenly at his home in Cedar Rapids last Saturday evening.
Mr. Parkhurst had been employed by the Western Grocer company in specialty and city sales work at the time of his death and had represented the company in various state territories since 1910. His career as a commercial salesman extended over forty years. When he was in business in Marion, he occupied the building which is now occupied by the Marion Electric company.
He was a member of the Cedar Rapids Elks lodge. Besides his widow, Mrs. Adelaide Parkhurst, he is survived by one son, Henry.
Funeral services were held last Tuesday in the Beatty chapel in Cedar Rapids with interment being in the Oakshade[sic] cemetery.
