The Linn County Register Saturday May 25, 1861
GODFREY HEIN who was wounded last week in firing an anvil at Center Point, died on Friday night of his wounds, and was brought here and burried[sic] on Sunday last. The large concourse of his old neighbors and friends who gathered at the Christian Chapel on Sunday afternoon to witness the funeral ceremonies, was a fitting tribute to the unblemished character he bore among those who knew him best.
