Foul Play Suspected
~
CEDAR RAPIDS, Nov. 11. - On Nov 2, Irving Butler left Center Point for Chicago with a load of cattle. He being a young man of good business tract. No uneasiness was felt by his relatives as to his whereabouts until a few days ago, when his mother, who is a widow, received through the Davenport post office a check drawn on a Chicago bank for $400. This led her to think something was wrong, and she immediately telegraphed to friends living in Davenport. After a diligent search in that city, Mrs. Butler was informed that he had not been seen there. The mother believes her son has been found foully dealt with, and that supposition is general at Center Point.
