Another of the pioneer women of Keokuk has passed to her reword, a woman of steady habits and kindly ways inherited from the early fathers and mothers of her fatherland.

Mrs. Barbara Seitz, a highly respected and beloved woman of Keokuk died at 12 o'clock last night, at the residence of her nephew, Andrew Boehm at Twenty-first street and the Plank road.

Mrs. Seitz was in her eightieth year. She was born in Germany and came to this country in 1852. She was married to Frank Seitz in Cincinnati in 1853 and came to Keokuk in 1855, having lived here continuously ever since. Mrs. Seitz was the mother of a large family, but all her children and her husband have preceded her in death.

For many years Mrs. Seitz conducted a grocery at the corner of Eleventh and High streets. She was an industrious, upright, honorable woman and the world is better for her having been here.

Mrs. Seitz is survived by three nieces and one nephew who have the sympathy of all their friends in the death of this venerable woman and old citizen.
