Mrs. Carrie E. Head died at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. L. S. Job, Second and Bank streets, at 5:00 o'clock yesterday afternoon after a long illness from tuberculosis. The decedent has been in poor health from this malady for several years and had been confined to her bed for the past eleven months.

Mrs. Head had been living in Keokuk for eight years. She came here from her home in Canton, Mo., to study to be a nurse. She completed her probation period at Graham hospital but ill health finally interfered with her plans and she was forced to give up her work.

The decedent was born on Sept. 1, 1880 in what was then Indian Territory before it was incorporated with Oklahoma. Later she went to Canton, Mo., with her parents, and eight years ago came to Keokuk to live.

She was married twice, the first time to Mr. Scott, from whom she was divorced. Her second marriage was to Lewis Head, which occurred in Keokuk about six years ago. Mr. Head died a short time ago in South Dakota. Mrs. Head was a member of the Methodist church of Canton.

One son, Clifford Scott of this city survives. Her parents, Mr. and Mrs. L. S. Job reside here and also a brother, Paul Job. There are two sisters, Mrs. Mattie Wilford, Mason City, Iowa, and Mrs. Ruby White, LaBelle, Mo.

The funeral was held from the home at 2:00 o'clock this afternoon with burial in Oakland cemetery.
