Away Yesterday Afternoon
After Sickness of Three
Months

The death of Eli Jacquin took place yesterday at 3:40 p. m., at St. Joseph's hospital. He had been suffering three months from a complication of diseases, and was taken to the hospital a week before his death.

Mr. Jacquin was born in Troy, France, May 18, 1843. When five years old he came with his parents to America and settled at Nauvoo, Ill. When a young man he came to Keokuk and lived here a number of years. He then settled on a farm west of Keokuk, and has since lived in that vicinity. At the time of his last illness he lived on the St. Francisville road, seven miles northwest of Keokuk.

He married in 1881 to Miss Emily Merrick. She passed away last October. He is survived by one daughter, Mrs. J. B. Williams of Keokuk, and one brother, Louis Jacquin of Keokuk.

Funeral will be held from the Valley Methodist church at 11 a. m., Friday.
