The funeral services over the remains of the late Dave Rickards held in the First Baptist Church Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock were well attended by his many friends, schoolmates and companions. Will Wilkinson, George Covington, Will Mepham, Sam Hatch, Lee Anderson, and Ed Parsons, former comrades of the deceased acted as pall-bearers. The services were very impressively conducted by Rev. C. H. Moserip. After the sermon all who wished to were given an opportunity to view the remains. Sad were the thoughts of those who now beheld for the last time all that remained of a once bright and promising youth just budding into manhood and a bright future destroyed prematurely by the chilly hand of death. The remains were accompanied to their last resting place by a large concourse of friends and there deposited in the cold, damp earth, while the recollections of his youth and the many pleasant hours they spent together will ever be fondly cherished by his companions and friends.
