MONTROSE, Iowa. Jan. 7. - Henry Young, a resident of Montrose for nearly sixty years, and a well known Lee county farmer, passed away at his home on a farm on the outskirts of this town at 5:40 o'clock last evening from pneumonia. Mr. Young was taken ill two weeks ago.

The decedent is survived by his wife and one son, George Young, who live at home.

Mr. Young was born in Germany on October 24, 1833. He came to America when he was twenty-one years old and settled first at Merryville, Ohio, where he resided but a short time. He moved to Montrose at an early date and lived on a farm abutting the town the rest of his life.

The decedent possessed many friends in Montrose and vicinity and all will unite in extending their sympathies to the family. Mr. Young was married to Christina Schimdeno at Primrose, Iowa, on December 1, 1889. Of three children born to this union but one survives.

The funeral was held at 1 o'clock today from the home and the body was taken to Farmington where interment will be made tomorrow.
