DEATH CLAIMS MISS BURT
She Died This Morning at Home of
Her Sister, Mrs. Millspaugh
at 825 Orleans
Avenue.

The death of Miss Bertha M. Burt took place this morning at 7 o'clock
at the home of her sister, Mrs. S. E. Millspaugh, 825 Orleans avenue. Miss
Burt had been in failing health for several years. About two years ago
she went to California to live, in the hope that she would be benefited
by the climate, but instead she gradually grew worse. About three weeks
ago she came to live with her sister here, but was in a serious condition at
that time, being too weak to walk.

Miss Burt was born at Yates City, Illinois, February 9, 1878. After the death of
her parents she came to Keokuk to live with Mrs. Millspaugh and was here about two
years before she went to California. She was a woman of strong intellectuality
though quite and unobtrusive in her manner.

She leaves two sisters, Mrs. S. E. Millspaugh, of Keokuk, and Mrs. Kate Anderson,
of Urbana, illnois.

Funeral arrangements have not yet been made, pending the arrival of Mrs. Anderson.
