Conductor On Santa Fe Dies

Death Takes Harry Ballou,
Montrose Native,
Stricken While on Train

Harry Ballou, about 66, conductor on the Missouri division of the Santa Fe railroad, died at Santa Fe hospital, Ft. Madison, this morning, where he was taken after being stricken with heart attack en route from Kansas City last night.
He was a native of Montrose.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Nellie Ballou, Ft. Madison; two sons, Gilbert, of Los Angeles, Cal., and William of St. Joseph, Mo.; a sister, Mrs. J.P. Kennedy, Montrose, and a brother, Richard, Ft. Dodge, Ia; also a granddaughter.
He was a member of the Brotherhood of Railroad Trainsmen, Masonic lodge and Martha chapter, O.L.S., Montrose. He graduated from Montrose High school in 1894.
Funeral arrangements are pending.
