Lawrence Rhode, aged 42, city patrolman at Ft. Madison, died from a stroke of paralysis, after making an arrest.

Transcriber’s Note: Find a Grave shows he was born Oct. 20, 1873 and died Sept. 11, 1916. He is buried in the Gethsemane Cemetery.
