I am a Blanchard by birth and have both Blanchard and Matson showing up in the family trees I have search so far. My great great.... grandparents were Milton Blanchard and Garfelia Waite. Milton was born in Canada and Garfelia in New York state. I know they had a couple of kids: Adelbert Waite Blanchard, Edward Carlton Blanchard and Helen Elizabeth Blanchard and possibly Albert Waite Blanchard and Charles Sumner Blanchard. I'm not sure if Albert is a child or if it is shortened version of Adelbert, still digging on that one.
If there are any of the above names that are in your family history/tree, I'd love to talk to you and compare our notes. My grandpa Blanchard died before my first birthday, but my mom has filled me in on a bit of the family and I am going to see a relative in her 70's or 80's this week to get some more history from her.
