Services Held Monday for Lillian Gabel

Funeral services were held on Monday of this week for a 67 year old Swea City woman, Lillian Gabel. Mrs. Gabel passed away August 22 at 5:30 a.m. at St. Mary Hospital in Rochester after being ill for the past two months.

Rites were held August 25, 1969 at United Methodist Church in Swea City with Rev. Marlon Bloodworth officiating. Interment was at Harrison Township Cemetery with Reese-Henry Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Pallbearers included Donald Gerdes, Laurel Peterson, Rudy Peterson, George Pearson, A. Peterson, and Lawrence Hanson.

Lillian Sophia Gabel was born July 8, 1902, at Pequot Lake, Minn. to parents Julius and Inga Christopherson. She received her education at Pequot Lake.

On March 21, 1922 she married Martin Gabel at Walker, Minn. The couple farmed near Pequot Lake for a time and then moved to a farm near Ledyard, Ia. and later to a farm near Grant and in 1938 the couple moved to the Swea City area.

Survivors include two sons, Darold of Longmont, Colorado and Floyd of Chillicothe, Mo.

Nine grandchildren also survive.

Other survivors include two brothers Emil Christopherson of Heron Lake, Minn. and Melvin Christopherson of Mobile, Alabama; two sisters, Mrs. Burton Stanley of Pequot Lake, Minn. and Mrs. Marvin Norris of Vancouver, Wash.
