Sweet, Eliza Kinnamon Hayden 1835-1922

The funeral of Mrs. Eliza A. Sweet was held Monday, interment being made in Greenwood Cemetery after services at the Baptist curent conducted by Rev. Arthur Hubbard, the remains being laid to rest beside those of her husband, who preceeded her to the grave on September 22nd, 1921. The pall bearers were: Bert Goddard, Samuel Mayne, Amos Kinney, E. A. Howe, B. D. Owens and W. W. Odell. Among the relatives from a distance who attended the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Guy Campbell of Swea City, Mr. and Mrs. J. F. Marsell of Estherville, Iowa, Mr. and Mrs. J. B. Hayden and Mrs. George A. Hayden of Estherville, Miss Mayme Karr of Estherville, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Godden, Mrs. J. W. Kinnamon, Mr. and Mrs. Jay Godden of Swea City and Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Olson of Burt.

Eliza A. Kinnamon was born on December 30th, 1835 in Caroline Co. Maryland. In 1866 she was united in marriage to John Hayden who preceded her to the grave. She was married to G. W. Sweet in 1868. She lived in Ohio for a time, later moving to Wisconsin where she made her home for a number of years, moving to Iowa in 1871. In 1898 the family moved to Bancroft where she has since resided and where her fine disposition and cheerful manner has made a host of friends. Early in life the deceased joined the Baptist church and she has been a faithful and devouted member. She leaves to mourn her a son, B. F. Hayden, a daughter, Mrs. G. W. Watkins of McCook, Neb., besides several grandchildren and three great grandchildren. A useful life is ended.
