Kicked to Death.
Algona, Aug. 19.—Hugh Black, a very respectable and well-to-do farmer of Kossuth county, was instantly killed yesterday. He was raking hay with a span of horses when, as near as can be learned, they took fright and ran, throwing him forward onto the whiffle-trees and heels of the horses. He was kicked on the top of the bond, killing him instantly. That is the theory of the physician who was called after the accident. The exact facts will never be known, as he was alone in the field.

Transcriber’s Note: Find a Grave shows he was born May 15, 1845 and died Aug. 18, 1897. He is buried in Riverview Cemetery.
