"Funeral services for Eva E. Mittag, 87, who died at the Good Samaritan Center, Algona Saturday, March 22, were held Tuesday afternoon, March 25, 1980 at 2:00 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Algona. Rev. Clifford Issacson officiated and burial was in Riverside Cemetery at Algona. Geilenfeld-Schaaf Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Pallbearers were Ronald Mittag, Jerry Gunn, Jack Smidt, Dick Mittag, Lonny Mittag and Steven Mittag.

Eva Albright was born May 30, 1892 to Ferdinand and Anna (Knoer) Albright at Algona."

"She lived all of her life in Kossuth County. She received her schooling in Union Township, Kossuth County. She was married to Emil Mittag on September 2, 1913, at the Good Hope Methodist Church, rural Lone Rock. The couple farmed northwest of Algona. She was a charter member of the UMW and received the decree of honor from the Methodist Church.

Mr. Mittag died in 1935. In 1948 Eva moved from the farm to Algona. She enjoyed cooking and baking and also enjoyed her family.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Emil; one son, one daughter, and her parents.

Survivors include her children, Mrs. Wesley (Dores) Hauck of Duluth, Minnesota; Mrs. Joyce Gunn of Emmetsburg; Charles Mittag of Goodman, Missouri; Mrs. Richard (Virginia) Babbit of San Diego, California; Mrs. Peter (Patricia) Smidt of Lakota; Robert Mittag of San Diego, California; Dr. James Mittag of Orlando, Florida; Mrs. Will (Sharon) McGregor of San Diego, California; 45 grandchildren and 35 great-grandchildren."
