Its interesting reading about Dwain Mueller, and his connection to What Cheer and its history. The newspaper he started The Lowden Journal was a short lived newspaper. The town of Lowden couldn't support to newspapers so his died off. He Grandpa was the founder of the The Lowden News. He along with his wife worked on a important book for what cheer. What Cheer--100 years; a history of What Cheer and neighboring towns and communities.
by Dwain Mueller; What Cheer Centennial Committee. It would be interesting to know if he knew that he had a very faint connection to the area. His Grandpa had a half brother Henry Mueller from Sioux County, Iowa. Henry's daughter Frieda Mueller who would be a Half Aunt of Dwain, married Walter Orland Jahn who was born in What Cheer area. His grandfather was Christoph Neumann.
