Rites For R. Miller

HEDRICK - Ralph O. Miller, 84, retired farmer and father of Mrs. Jack Raymond of Fairfield, died Sunday at the Ottumwa Hospital. He was a lifelong resident of the Hedrick area.

Services will be held Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at the Hedrick Christian Church with the Rev. C.N. Stevenson officiating. Burial will be in Brooks Cemetery. Arrangements are in charge of the Fremont Funeral Chapel.

Miller was born March 10, 1890, the son of Jacob and Cora Belle Bennison Miller. He was married Oct. 2, 1914 to Sarah H. Day, who died Oct. 10, 1924. On Sept. 22, 1932 he was married to Carrie Denny Doud who survives.

Surviving children include Mrs. Raymond and three sons: Cecil of Lebanon, Jake of Selma and David of Hattiesburg, Miss.

Surviving stepchildren are Sanford Doud, Sigourney; Harold Doud, Blairstown; Glen Doud, Vinton; Earl Doud, Hedrick; Keith Doud, Batavia; and James Doud, Ottumwa.

Other survivors are three sisters, Alice Mitchell, Tucson, Ariz.; Neva Smith, Douds; and Pearl Dacy, San Diego, Calif.; 15 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.

Miller was preceded in death by one daughter, one grandchild, three brothers and one sister.
