Graveside services for Francis M. Houstman, 79, Maquoketa, father of Gary Mullen, Tipton, were held at Forest cemetery, Anamosa Nov. 3. Military rites were by the Legion, VFW and Amvets of Anamosa.

Mr. Houstman died at Veteran's hospital, Iowa City Nov. 1 following an extended illness.

The son of Reiligh McDaniel Houstman he was born near Olin July 21, 1901 and was educated in the Olin schools. He was a veteran of World War II. He had been employed by Iowa Manufacturing company in Cedar Rapids, retiring in 1966 when he moved to a resort near Gamaliel, Ark. Last year he moved to Maquoketa to live with a sister.

He is survived by his son, a sister, Mrs. Edyth Norton, Maquoketa and 3 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son.
