Funeral services for Mrs. Lela Mae Yarrington were Wednesday, Oct. 20, 1971 at 1:30 p.m., at Goettsch Funeral home, Anamosa, with the Rev. Donald Wells officiating. Interment was in Green Center cemetery near Morley.

Lela Mae Yarrington, 68, wife of Alva Yarrington, died at a Cedar Rapids hospital Sunday, Oct. 17 after an illness of several weeks.

The former Lela Mae Rogers, she was born at Prescott Oct. 27, 1902, the daughter of James and Dora Thurston Rogers and was married to Alva Yarrington Oct. 27, 1921, and they made their home in Anamosa for several years. The past 17 years they lived in Marion.

She is survived by her husband; five children, James, Mrs. Robert (Doris) Hartwig, Mrs. Larry (Shirley) Heald, Anamosa; Francis, Glen, Marion; 22 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren. Two sons, Frank and Paul, her parents and a sister, preceded her in death.
