MONTICELLO - Dalco Yount, 73, died Friday morning, April 1, at John McDonald hospital, following a heart attack a few hours previous. Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at First Presbyterian church in Monticello with the Rev. John Benj. Wild officiating. Burial was made at Oakwood cemetery.

Born in Anamosa, Oct. 16, 1892, he was the son of Dalco and Carrie Gray Yount. He was educated in the Jones county schools and was a member of the First Presbyterian church.

On Feb. 10, 1915 he was married to Ruth Bray of Anamosa. They farmed near Anamosa for 16 years. In 1932 he was employed by the Iowa Highway commission and transferred to Monticello in 1936, retiring in 1960 because of ill health.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Lois Althea, three grandchildren, his parents, two brothers and one half brother.

Survivors include his wife; four daughters, Mrs. Edman (Virginia) Vernon of Morley, Mrs. Warren (Lucile) Kester of Sioux City, Mrs. J. L. (Wilma Doris) Pieratt of Cedar Falls; eight grandchildren, four great-granddaughters; one sister, Mrs. Mary Fairbanks of Cedar Rapids and one half brother, Arthur Fairbanks of Boulder, Colo.

Pallbearers included Howard Skelley, Earl H. DeShaw, James C. Bender, William Yeoman, Elmer Anderson and William Buol.
