MONTICELLO - Charles Raymond Rice, 85, died at John McDonald hospital early Monday morning, Dec. 23. Funeral services will be held Thursday, Dec. 26 at 1:30 p.m. from the Goettsch funeral home with interment at Oakwood cemetery. Rev. Howard Eldrenkamp will officiate at the services.

Charles Rice was born near Monticello, Dec. 3, 1878, son of Lucen and Mary Moulton Rice. His entire life was spent in the Monticello community in the farming area until 7 years ago when he moved to Monticello. He was married to Viola Brown, April 24, 1906. She preceded him in death in March of 1928. There are three nieces surviving.
