Funeral service for Mrs. Arthur Lake, 52, will be held at the Loder Funeral home Saturday at 11 a.m. Rev. H. L. Buesing of the Lutheran church will be the officiating minister. Mrs. Lake died Wednesday afternoon.

Surviving are her husband and a son.

Engel Hanken Lake, second child of Gerhardt Hanken and his wife, Margaret Scheer Hanken, was born December 1893 in Scotch Grove, Jones County, Iowa. She was baptised in the Lutheran faith as an infant and received instructions during her 13 and 14th years before being confirmed at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran church east of Monticello.

As a child she attended the grade school adjoining the home farm and assisted her parents on the farm.

In April of 1913 she entered into marriage with Arthur Lake of Maquoketa, Iowa. Following the marriage they resided in Amber, Center Junction and Popejoy, Iowa for about 19 years.

In 1934 they moved to Anamosa where they have since made their home.

She passed away on Wednesday, May 15, after receiving the blessing of her pastor, Rev. H. L. Buesing. She had reached the age of 52 years, 5 months and 12 days.

She leaves to mourn, her husband of Anamosa; one son, Glenn of Anamosa; her sister, Mrs. Harm Dirks of Center Junction; 2 brothers-in-law and other distant relatives; many friends and neighbors who greatly mourn her passing.

Services were held Saturday morning at the Loder Funeral Home with Rev. H. L. Buesing, officiating.

Casket bearers were Bud Robertson, George Brainard, E. Grim and Arthur ??? Burial was at Riverside cemetery.
