Sherwood B. Osborn, 88, died Tuesday evening at the home of his daughter, Mrs. I. J. Ellison, Mount Vernon.

He was born in Scott county, Iowa, in the year 1858. He was the son of Hiram and Nancy Osborn. For many years, Mr. Osborn was a gardener in Anamosa. Nancy, wife of the deceased died six years ago.

Mr. Osborn is survived by four daughters: Mrs. Edna Ellison, Mount Vernon; Mrs. Nan Nichols, Everett, Wash.; Mrs. Ernie Corwin, Olin; Mrs. Clarence Spencer, Iowa City.

Funeral service will be held Friday at 1:30 p.m. in the Smykil Home for Funerals, Rev. Edgar E. Walker, jr., officiating.

Burial will be made in West Liberty cemetery, West Liberty, Iowa.
