OXFORD JUNCTION - Funeral service was held Wednesday afternoon, June 26, from the Lutheran church at Wyoming for Mrs. Emma Von Sprecken, 67, who died near Oxford Junction Sunday afternoon at five o'clock from a heart attack, in the home of William Quirk, where she had been employed as housekeeper. Rev. Herbert Graening had charge of the service. Music was by the church choir, and those serving as pallbearers were: Gus Von Sprecken, Meinhart Thompson, Theodore Becker, Paul Levsen, Carl Westphal and Fred Webbena. Interment was in the Wyoming cemetery.

Mrs. Von Sprecken was born Emma Burmahl, June 5, 1879, in Fairfield township, Jackson county, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Louie Burmahl. She was united in marriage to Harry Fowler at Preston, Sept. 29, 1895, who preceeded her in death, and was married again to John Von Sprecken, May 7, 1925, at Anamosa, who died in 1935. She had been employed for some time in the home of William Quirk as housekeeper, and had not been ill until Sunday morning previous to her death in the afternoon.

Survivors are two sons: Leo Fowler, Wyoming, and Harry Fowler, Oxford Junction; one sister, Mrs. Louie Ringen, Preston, three brothers, Gus and John Burmahl, Preston, and Henry Burmahl, Maquoketa, and three grandchildren.
