OXFORD JUNCTION - Edward Podlak, 74, died at his home in Maquoketa Friday afternoon, Aug. 21.

Funeral services were held Monday, Aug. 24, at the Carson Funeral home, Maquoketa. Rev. Lawrence Nelson, pastor of the Bellevue Presbyterian church was in charge of the service.

Knights of Pythias also held services at the home. Burial was in the Mayflower cemetery, Oxford Junction.

Mr. Podlak was born Nov. 16, 1889, in Oxford Junction, son of Martin and Rose Podlak. He was united in marriage to Lena Shley, Oxford Junction, who preceeded him in death in 1955. On Jan. 7, 1958, he was married to Jessie Weets in Dubuque.

He is survived by his wife, Jessie, and one daughter, Mrs. Dora Moses, Center Junction; three sisters, Mrs. Ann Carter and Rose Podlak, Maquoketa, and Mrs. Marie Newton, Conoga Park, Calif.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Lena, and two brothers.
