C. Ray Carroll, 77, Anamosa, died Friday, June 19, at the Johnson Nursing home, Monticello, following a lingering illness.

Funeral services were held Monday, June 22, at 1:30 .m., at the Goettsch Funeral home, Anamosa. Rev. Charles R. Landon conducted the service. Burial was in Riverside cemetery.

Pallbearers included Cecil Farmer, Ray Parsons, Vern Carrington, Max Fayram, Ralph Potter and James Connolly.

He was born March 7, 1877, son of Willis Carroll and Mary Wolf Carroll, Oxford Junction. He was married to Eva Scott, Sept. 28, 1909, at Tipton. Couple made their home in Anamosa. He operated a barber shop in Anamosa for 45 years before retiring, after retiring he did barbering part time at his residence until last year.

Survivors include his daughter, Maxine, Mrs. Gene Taylor, Monticello; one granddaughter; two brothers, Winfred Carroll, Oakland, Calif., and Roscoe Carroll, Bethel Island, Calif.

He was preceded in death by his wife, April 6, 1964, two brothers and one sister.
