They later lived on a farm in Richland township, Iowa, and then returned to Cascade. As a young man Mr. Moes attended the Iowa Commercial college at Davenport, Iowa.

When he was 25 years old he went to Randolph and engaged in carpentry, later was in business with Henry Lorge, and then returned to the carpentry trade, which he followed until his death.

On June 15, 1904, he was married to Mary Caroline Thelsen of Cascade, Iowa, who with their four sons, survive.

His survivors are his wife, sons Harold of Ft. Dodge, Ia., and Emmett, John and Leo, all in the armed forces of the United State; two brothers James and Peter Moes of Cascade, Ia., one sister, Mrs. Thos. McGovern of Cascade and one grandchild.

Mrs. McGovern and daughter, Mrs. Al Streng of Cascade, attended the funeral at Randolph, Nebr.
