OLIN--John Carstensen, 58, Olin, died Friday, June 14, at his home east of Olin.

Prayer service was held at the family home at 1:30 Tuesday, June 18, followed by services at the Hayden Funeral home, Olin, at 2 p.m. Rev. Lloyd Dutro, pastor of the Olin E.U.B. church, conducted the service. Burial was in the Olin cemetery.

Pallbearers included Gayle Ahrendsen, Ervin Ahrendsen, Oscar Dethmann, Francis Derga, Paul Levsen and Lee Freeman.

Nellie Stivers was soloist. Mrs. Galen Alexander was pianist. Flower committee from the Olin E.U.B. church was in charge of floral tributes.

He was born Dec. 30, 1904, son of Henry and Anna Petersen Carstensen, near Oxford Junction. He had lived his entire life in the Oxford Junction-Olin vicinity. He had farmed in the area throughout his entire life.

Aug. 22, 1931, he was married to Hazel Vrooman, Dakota City, Nebr.

Survivors include his wife, Hazel; one son, Norman, Oxford Junction; three sisters, Elsie and Hilda Cartsensen and Matilda, Mrs. Arthur Ahrendsen, all of Wyoming; three grandchildren and two nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Louis.
