OLIN--Mrs. John Zaruba, 68, died Friday, Aug. 23, at Wyoming, following a lingering illness.

Funeral services were held Monday, Aug. 26, at 1:30 p.m., at the Hayden Funeral home, Olin. Rev. Lloyd Dutro, pastor of the Olin Evangelical United Brethren church conducted the service. Burial was in the Olin cemetery.

Pallbearers included Charles Burgess, Willard Hoyman, James Cook, Hugh Doty, Arthur Vanderbilt and Herman Wendt.

Nellie Stivers was soloist. Dorothy Alexander was pianist.

She was born Alwina Wilhelmina Marianna Jurgensen, Oct. 27, 1894, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Claus Jurgensen, near Olin. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran church in her girlhood.

Dec. 18, 1939, she was married to John Zaruba. They lived on a farm east of Olin until Mr. Zaruba's death Oct. 5, 1957. Since the death of her husband she had made her home with her two brothers near Center Junction.

For a few months she worked in Cedar Rapids and had also worked in Mechanicsville for several years.

Survivors include two brothers, Martin and Henry Jurgensen, both of Center Junction.

Beside her husband she was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters and one brother.
