RITES HELD FRIDAY FOR MRS. EICHHORN

Funeral services for Mrs. Henry Eichhorn, Sr., who died at her home in Wyoming early last Wednesday morning, were held at the home at 2:30 Friday afternoon. Rev. W.P. Nicholas, pastor of the Wyoming Presbyterian Church, as in charge of the services, which were attended by a large crowd of relatives and friends.
Special music was by a quartette including Mrs. Robert Platner, Mrs. Robert Alden, Merton E. Miller and W.J. Beckwith. Pallbearers were all nephews of Mrs. Eichhorn, Matthias Brodersen, Herman Brodersen, Peter Brodersen, Tom Brodersen, Lawrence Brodersen and Harold Ingwersen. Floral tributes were unusually beautiful. Interment was in the Wyoming cemetery.

Mrs. Eichhorn was of that sturdy stock so much admired, a woman who merited and retained the love and respect of everyone who knew her. She was a splendid mother and her big-hearted generosity was acclaimed by scores of persons whom she had befriended during the years. Her chief interest was in her home and her children, and to the very last she kept the best interests and happiness of her family nearest to her heart.

Born on March 19, 1855, at Husum in the providence of Schleswig-Holstein, Germany, she spent her childhood and young womanhood in the old country, coming to America in 1881. On Feb. 13, 1883, she was married to Henry Eichhorn, and nine children were born to the union, two dying in infancy. Those still living are Mrs. Joe Tompkins, Mrs. John Dieckmann, who has cared for her mother during her recent illness, Mrs. George Fishwild, Peter Eichhorn, Chris Eichhorn, Henry Eichhorn and Tom Eichhorn. There are also nine grandchildren, and one sister living in Germany.

Since coming to Jones county Mrs. Eichhorn had always lived in Wyoming township, moving with her husband to Wyoming in 1915. Henry Eichhorn Sr. died May 6, 1924. Her death early in the morning of April 10 followed a general failing of health which had occurred over the past six months.
