CLARA DUSANEK
November 29,1910 - March 4, 2001

Clara Dusanek, 90, of Wyoming, Iowa, died Sunday, March 4, 2001 at her home near Wyoming, Iowa, from cancer which resulted from many years of hemochromatosis.

She was born on November 29, 1910 near Morley, the daughter of John and Bertha Lessard Klinefelter and graduated as valedictorian of the Morley Class of 1929. As a young woman Clara took care of her ill mother for a few years. She then worked for a short stint as a seamstress in an Anamosa factory before she worked as the cook at Edinburgh Manor for two years.

On February 24, 1937 she married George Dusanek at Anamosa. The couple moved to their farm northeast of Wyoming where they still lived at the time of Clara's death. They enjoyed 64 years and eight days of good times, good kids (well, tolerable anyway) and daily affection. Clara was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Wyoming for more than 60 years. She served in various leadership positions in the United Presbyterian Church, had been a Sunday School teacher, and had served on the Midland Council of Churches with George for more than 10 years. She had been involved in her children's activities at school and had been a 4-H leader. She was widely known as an incredible cook, a wonderful friend, a kind
helper of all people, a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She liked flowers and gardening and wasn't afraid to drive a tractor!

Clara is survived by her husband, George; three sons, John (Cleo Kaye) Dusanek of Wyoming, Iowa, Norman Dusanek of Los Angeles, California, and Marvin (Nancy) Dusanek of Monticello; three daughters, Rosalie (Ken) Russell of Houston, Texas, Eileen (Sam) Ajiri of Detroit, Michigan and Nigeria, and Margaret (Chris) Kyrtsos of Southfield, Michigan; one brother, Howard Klinefelter of Topeka, Kansas; 13 grandchildren, Chad (Tara) Dusanek, Angela Dusanek, Cindy (Dan) Bogard, Dike Ajiri, David Dusanek, Jenny Dusanek, Christina Kyrtsos, Katrina Kyrtsos, Diana Kyrtsos, Angela Kyrtsos, Suzanna Kyrtsos, Gabriella Kyrtsos, and Alexander Kyrtsos; three great grandchildren, Tate Curtis, Clara Bogard, and Lucas Martin; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 8, 2001 at the First Presbyterian Church in Wyoming with burial in Wyoming Cemetery. The Rev. James Langley officiated. Casketbearers were Randy Mohr, Ronald Orris, Marvin Parmer, Richard Pace, Dick Fishwild, and Joel Zamastil. Honorary casketbearers were Jerry DeLarm and Pat Cashman. Friends called Wednesday from 4-7 p.m. at the Hayden Funeral Home in Wyoming.
