Ralph L. Hatcher, 59, Anamosa, died Tuesday, July 26, at Anamosa Community hospital, after suffering a heart attack.

Funeral services were held July 29 at 1:30 p.m. at the Methodist church, Anamosa. The Rev. Melvin Miller conducted the service. Burial was in Riverside cemetery.

Pallbearers included Ed Henkel, Floyd McShane, Ray Peet, Fred Kaufman, Loyal Byerly and Ralph Ford. LaDonna Robertson was organist and Mrs. Earl Wahl was soloist.

He was born July 21, 1907, son of L. J. Hatcher and Bessie Weatherly Hatcher, Missouri Valley. He was married Dec. 16, 1928 to Melvina Nelson, Missouri Valley.

The couple moved to Mechanicsville in 1941 and went to Anamosa in 1955. He had been employed as a salesman for Dutch Boy feeds until recently when he changed to silo salesman.

Survivors include his wife, Melvina; 5 daughters, Mrs. Larry (Sally) Hurt, Anamosa; Mrs. Leon (Katy) Henkel, Cedar Rapids; Joanne, Iowa City; Ruthe, Anamosa; Mrs. Galen (Dianna) Hanna, Cedar Rapids.

Six sons, Rodney, Jewell; Robert, Glidden; Jerry, Alamagordo, New Mex.; Keith, Marion; Jon, Anamosa and Paul, Phoenix, Ariz.

One brother, Harold, Missouri Valley; 2 sisters, Mrs. Harold McCoy, Council Bluffs and Mrs. Clifford Miller, Chicago, Ill. and 28 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one grandchild.
