MONTICELLO, Iowa - Grace M. Hageman, 83, of Monticello, died Thursday, July 6, 2006, at home, following a long illness.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Monticello, with the Rev. Donald Schmitt officiating. Burial will be in the Sacred Heart Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 9 p.m. Monday at Kramer Funeral Home, Monticello, where there will be a parish scripture service at 4 p.m.

She was born on Sept. 1, 1922, in Sand Springs, daughter of John and Mayme (Kurt) Leibold.

She married Urban Hageman on April 15, 1944, in Cascade. Together they farmed in the Monticello area until retirement in 1982. With quiet diligence, she accomplished all she had to do helping on the farm and raising eight children.

Surviving are four sons, Charles (Donita), of Monticello, Dennis (Dottie), of De Witt, Roger (Denise), of Cedar Rapids, and Brian (Whitney Cowing), of Oakland, Calif.; three daughters, Doris (Doug) Albaugh, of Mechanicsville, and Elaine (Dave) Nelson and Ann (Mike) Mohnsen, both of Cedar Rapids; 16 grandchildren, Jesse and Carrie Albaugh, Lisa Lief, Nathan and Ben Hageman, Heather (Tim) Longoria, Christine (Geoff Garrett) and Jayson (Stephanie) Nelson, Michelle, Mark and Sam Hageman, Michael (Jenny) and Nicholas Hageman, Matthew and Kaeli Mohnsen and Henry Augustas "Gus" Hageman; two stepgrandchildren, Jessica and Megan Mohnsen; six great-grandchildren and three stepgreat-grandchildren; three brothers, Vince Leibold, of Monticello, Louie (Betty) Leibold, of Cascade, and James (Maggie) Leibold, of Clearwater, Kan.; and two sisters, Marion Manternach, of Cascade, and Leona (Bob) Buckley, of El Cajon, Calif.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Urban, in 1997; and a son, Allen, in 2003.

Memorials are preferred to Camp Courageous of Iowa and Hospice of Mercy.
