14 June 1906 - The Clarence Sun

Polly Ann Tyrrell died at her home in Oxford Mills on Sunday night, aged 82 years, being born in August, 1824. The early settlers of this section will nearly all remember Grandma Tyrrell, she and her husband, Mallory Tyrrell, being among the first settlers. Their old farm home just over the line in Jones Co. was widely known in pioneer days for its hospitality. Mr. Tyrrell has been dead for twenty-nine years. Eight of Mr. and Mrs. Tyrrell's children survive and all these were present at the funeral except "Mol." The funeral was held at the Oxford Mills M. E. church on Tuesday afternoon and was conducted by Rev. M. J. Locke of the Clarence M.E. church. Interment followed at the Oxford Junction cemetery beside the remains of her husband. The funeral was very largely attended.
