Wheatland had a fire on the night of the 12th inst. The losers were John Walraven building and post-office, loss in goods $200 and building $2,000, no insurance; J. Barrett, stock of dry goods, loss $1,000, fully insured; Scutz & Potter building occupied by J. Barrett, total loss, valued at $3,000, no insurance; A. Smith, stock of hardware, loss $10,000, insured for $4,000; Carter & Sillie, building, occupied by A. Smith, $3,000, no insurance; Wilkie & Kohbergh, building and stock of boots and shoes, $3,000, no insurance.
