The Clinton Age, Clinton, Iowa, January 20, 1891
Anamosa Eureka – Deputy Warden C. Q. Barr recently moved into Mr. A. H. Sherman’s brick residence near the park. The family bedroom is on the second floor. One night last week Mr. Barr arose for the purpose of closing a door, missed his reckoning, stepped off a stairway landing and fell headlong to the bottom. One arm was badly wrenched at the elbow and a slit in the scalp were among the results of the tumble. Mr. Barr congratulated himself that he fared no worse, and well he may – Why didn’t you keep the Barrs up!
