Harriet Gould was a daughter of Henry Scoville Gould. She married William Black. There is a biography of Henry Scoville Gould that states he is a descendant of Nathan Gould who came from England in the mid 1600's with his two brothers Thomas and John. They settled in the Massachusetts Bay Colony. You can email me at bettjun@yahoo.com if you want. I do have some other info. There is a possibility that one of the descendants was a deputy governor of Massachusetts, Nathan Gould but the connection isn't proven yet.
