Thomas Beuter, 32, Iowa City, was one of 3 men killed in a one-car crash just south of Solon on I-1 about 6:30 p.m. Sept. 10. The others were Dennis Ryan, 22 and Randall Lenz, 21, both of Solon, Danny Ryan, Solon, the 4th passenger, was seriously injured.

Lenz was driving north at a high rate of speed when he ran off the highway to the right and then lost control as he pulled back. The car went sideways across the road, into a ditch and flipped into the air, slicing through a utility pole and coming down in a grove of trees.

Funeral services for Beuter were held in Solon and at St. Bridget's church at Nolan settlement Sept. 14, with burial in St. Mary's cemetery at Solon.

The son of Nick and Margaret Barry Beuter, he was born at Iowa City, March 24, 1945.

He was a member of St. Bridget's church, the Solon Jaycees, the Moose lodge of Iowa City and the Foresters. He was a farmer.

He is survived by his mother, Iowa City, a sister, Mrs. Ray Crock, Tipton and 4 brothers, James, Perry; Robert, Tipton; Nicholas Iowa City and Barry, West Bend, Wis.

He was preceded in death by his father.
