Andrew L. Small passed away May 19, 2023 in Iowa City, Iowa. He was 53 years old.

Andy was born January 22, 1970 in Cambridge, Massachusetts, the son of Harry and Barbara (Fjeldheim) Small. Andy later achieved a bachelor’s degree from the University of Iowa and went on to own and operate Video Center for 30 years.

Andy was a dynamic, creative, and sometimes difficult personality. He was a crazy artist who loved to build and innovate new designs. It didn’t matter if it was video projects that he was working on, or items or people he collected. He strived to transform those he cared about into the best possible versions. Andy loved tiling and renovating houses; and he loved a good bargain. He was one of a kind. His passing leaves a hole in our heart, but his memory and legacy live on through all who love him.

Andy’s family includes his cherished daughter, Eve (Logan Beaver) Small; his muse, Erika Siska; sister, Rachael Todt; and his parents, Harry and Barbara.

A simple cremation has been arranged in accordance with his wishes. A celebration of life will be scheduled for later in the summer. Service details will be updated when they become available.
