Jared Ardel Jay Anthony Wilson Jr, Age 8, passed away peacefully in his Mom's arms surrounded with love after a courageous battle with Leukemia on September 25th, 2022.

Jared was born on January 24th, 2014, at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City, Iowa. He is the son of Keely Joslyn and Jared Wilson. Since day one, Jared danced to the beat of his own drums. Jared was born with a rare extra chromosome and was the only known case with this duplication. Although his journey was unknown and far from easy, in his eyes, he was so loved and never had a bad day. He filled his days with his contagious smile that lit up any room he entered. Jared was originally diagnosed with Leukemia in 2018 at the young age of 4, relapsing shortly after his 8th birthday this year. He attended North Bend Elementary and had just started 3rd grade with the best teachers, staff and classmates a little boy could ever ask for. They provided him and his family with so much love and support during his journey. Deep down, Jared was an old soul. You could catch him with his legs crossed and his glasses crooked while flipping through his Coco coloring book and listening to Adele. He knew what he wanted and was confident in voicing his opinion. He invented hangry and was here for a good time, not a long time. He loved fish, aquariums, swimming and being the best big brother to his little sisters. JareBear touched so many lives in the short time he was given and he was loved by so many.

Jared is survived by his Mother, Keely; Father Jared; his Sisters, Jaeyla and Jaycee; his Grandma’s, Corinne and Theresa, many loving Aunts, Uncles and Cousins and his girlfriend Brinley. He will be welcomed by his Papa Jay, at sunset with open arms.
