Jay D. Ferguson
May 22, 1929 - August 30, 2021Jay D Ferguson of Iowa City, formerly of Colorado Springs, CO passed away on Monday, August 30th, 2021.
Jay served in the U.S. Navy. He was retired from Civil Service at the United States Air Force Academy. He was very adventuresome and enjoyed camping, hunting, fishing and anything the Colorado mountains had to offer.
In 1951 he married Patricia and they remained married until her death in 2014.
He was a Boy Scout leader at Corpus Christi Church for a number of years and got to see his oldest son, Mike become an Eagle Scout.
He is survived by two of his daughters, Anita Funk (Larry deceased) of Iowa City; and Helen (Bruce) Koen of Tipton, Indiana. He had 14 grandchildren and 28 great grandchildren which survive. His sister, Pat Walter of Colorado Springs also survives.
Jay is preceded in death by his wife, Pat, sons, Mike and Joe, daughter, Julie Terry, Son-in-law, Larry Funk, and grandson, Keith Ferguson.
Per his request, cremation has taken place. The family will have a private service at a later date
