Jacqueline A. Wald, age 70, passed away on August 17th, 2021 in Iowa City, IA.

Jackie was born on April 16, 1951, the daughter of Adolph “Dutch” and Florence (Dudansky) Wald, Jr.

Jackie, a social worker at Fort Carson in Colorado, had a special love of working with neglected, abused and traumatized children. She developed special techniques for reaching deeply into these children so she could better understand how to help them. Her skill was so acclaimed that she was appointed by several district court domestic cases to provide expert evaluation and testimony about children caught in difficult situations. She also worked with soldiers and family members where PTSD and other trauma were undermining the families’ relationships.

In all, she had enormous compassion, kindness and expertise dealing with some very challenging psychological injuries in her clients. She was admired by her colleagues and those who learned social work skills from her.
Jackie overcame many of her own health and other issues to be able to provide to others, including to her many friends, extraordinary love and generosity. She was a model friend, ever faithful and kind. Her loss is felt deeply by the many who knew her and became better versions of themselves because of her.

In accordance of her wishes, Jackie was cremated.
