Randy A. Tinkle, age 67 of Preston, formerly longtime resident of Iowa City died Friday, July 30, 2021, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.

Randy was born October 8, 1953, in Iowa City the son of Richard and Mildred (Burkett) Tinkle. Growing up in the Iowa City area he attended school and later joined the United States Navy. He has worked in a number of different occupations ranging from food service to construction work. He has always been a musician, having a number of bands over the years and also a racing fan, especially NASCAR.

His family includes his wife, Toni; daughter and her husband, Freedom and Brian Burkett; son, Justin Tinkle; sister, Linda Healy and her husband, Ray; 24 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, and brothers, Frank and Gary Tinkle Sr.
