Stephanie Ann (Witte) DeShaw, 37 years young of North Liberty, Iowa, passed away unexpectedly July 12, 2021, at The University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.

A private family visitation to say their final goodbyes to the beloved daughter, wife, mother, sister, and aunt that Stephanie was will be held at Lensing Funeral and Cremation Service. However, a memorial service for friends and family will be Tuesday July 20, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. at LIFE church, 2205 2nd Street, Coralville. Private burial will be at Ridgewood Cemetery in North Liberty. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be directed to http://ffnd.co/TY6sK7 for funeral expenses and an educational fund that has been set up for her three children.

Stephanie was born December 25, 1983, in Plano, Texas to Michael Witte and Ann Witte (Sontag). Growing up with three sisters and one brother was anything but boring, giving her the gift of having four lifelong best friends. She grew up in Lake Kiowa and later Houston, Texas, and was homeschooled/private schooled before heading to Colorado Springs to attend Charis Bible College. During college, she met the love of her life, Ryan DeShaw and on May 20, 2006, the couple got married in Colorado Springs, Colorado. It was not long before the two adventurous souls would experience many different parts of the country, living in various cities in Colorado, Texas, and Iowa. The couple settled in North Liberty, Iowa, in 2016 and were fortunate to live close to Ryan’s side of the family for the last six years. Distance meant nothing when it came to the bond she shared with her family back home, making it a priority to keep in touch with them often.

Together, she and her husband had three children, Josiah, Hannah, and Jacob, the three who brought out the best in her. Being involved in her children’s life was most important to Stephanie. After she had Josiah, she decided to dedicate her life to being a fantastic and wonderful mother. She then had Hannah and Jacob, and her role as a full-time mom to her three children became that much more fun. The love and support she offered to her children never went unnoticed and will be missed greatly.

In addition to being an avid fisherwoman, she loved doing anything outdoors including swimming, biking, kayaking, working in her garden, and sitting outside and watching her children play. She enjoyed traveling while making memories with family. Throughout her entire life, there was no animal that she did not want to have at home to raise. In her eyes, every animal had the ability to be a pet, of Stephanie’s that is, and it was evident the animals loved her right back.

Stephanie was easy going, never wanted to be the center of attention, had a great sense of humor, loved with all her heart but most importantly, she accepted everyone as they were, never judged a soul and valued the simple things in life.

She is survived by her husband Ryan DeShaw of North Liberty, IA, father, Michael Witte of Dallas, TX; mother Ann (Ron) Sontag of Houston, TX; three children, Josiah (14), Hannah (12), and Jacob (11); three sisters Jennifer (Daniel) Brennan, Sarah (Andrew) Roxburgh, and Michelle (Ryan) Betz; one brother JohnDavid (Jamie) Witte; 18 nieces and nephews, and her mother-in-law and father-in law Kathy and Randy DeShaw and her granddaddy Bob Schmidt.

Stephanie has joined her grandmother, Mammoo (Sharon Schmidt) in heaven.
