Constance “Connie” Lee Dautremont, 85, lifelong Iowa City resident, passed away Monday, November 9, 2020 at Windmill Manor in Coralville.

Visitation will be Friday from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at Lensing Funeral & Cremation Service in Iowa City. Funeral services will begin at 1:00 pm at Lensing’s. Connie chose to deed her body to the University of Iowa Department of Anatomy. Burial will be at a later date in a family plot at Oakland Cemetery in Iowa City. Please respect social distancing guidelines and masks are required - thank you.

Instead of flowers and plants, memorials may be directed to St. Mary’s Church or the Iowa City / Johnson County Senior Center.

Born November 13, 1934 in Iowa City, the daughter of Charles and Barbara (Pickering) Wagner. Connie grew up in Iowa City, graduating from City High School. She later attended the University of Iowa. Connie married Robert “Bob” Dautremont in Iowa City on February 18, 1955.

Connie’s career and passion for music spanned 48 years as a musician at St. Mary’s Church in Iowa City. She performed at countless weddings and funerals, not only at St. Mary’s, but other churches and venues in Iowa City. Connie accompanied thousands of children in the Iowa City Music Festivals. She was a member of Delta Zeta and Catholic Daughters of the America’s.

She accompanied the Voices of Experience and many other groups at the Senior Center. Connie was a stellar cribbage player and enjoyed going dancing when the music was playing!

She is survived by her children, Mike Dautremont (Rita) of Dallas, Texas, Pamela “Mel” Dautremont of Iowa City, Rick Dautremont (Kathy) of Solon, Chris Dautremont (Susan Jehle) of Iowa City, Patricia Johns (David) of Lafayette, Colorado and Shari Butler of North Liberty and grandchildren, Kristen, Nikki, Benjamin, Ryan and Jeffery.

Connie was preceded in death by her parents and companions, Frank Piersol and Myrnen “Mike” Billett.
