Clyde Shuman, 61, former Tipton barber, died at Veterans hospital in Iowa City Feb. 13, following an illness of six weeks.

Funeral services were held Saturday, with military rites. Burial was in Oakland cemetery at Iowa City.

Shuman was born in Corning in 1897. He was a barber in Tipton for several years before moving to Iowa City 10 years ago. He was married to Mrs. Hazel Blythe June 20, 1948 in Iowa City.

Mr. Shuman was active in veterans' affairs and was a former commander of the Iowa City post of the V.F.W.

He is survived by his widow, two stepdaughters and a step-son; two sisters and a brother.
