Elizabeth (Anne) Meyer Trealoff, 73 of Belle Plaine died Saturday, October 27, 2018, at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City.

Elizabeth was born in Chicago on November 3, 1944. She spent her childhood in the jungles of Peru but graduated from El Cerrito High School in California. She would spend the bulk of her life in various California locales, although the Bay Area would be where she most felt home. After the birth of her second grandchild, she moved to Iowa to support and encourage. Her last years were lived in the quiet town of Belle Plaine.

Elizabeth wore many hats: chef, caterer, manager, accountant, paralegal, Mom, cheerleader, activist, advocate, lifter of the broken. The most important in her life were Jesus and her family. She shared her strong faith, love of reading, cooking, her creativity, words of support, and her generosity not only with Michael, Nicole and Cody; but their friends, the community and the world as she saw it. Despite going through very hard times in life, she chose to look at the bright side, choosing stubborn joy. “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” - Jesus, John 16:33

Her family includes her three children, Michael Meyer (Carol); Nicole Meyer Horning (Jeffrey Horning); and Cody Trealoff; grandchildren, Jenny Meyer and Kiriana Horning; her brother and sister, Tom Pittman and Becky Brown (Stephen); and nieces Jennifer, Stephanie, and Hanna. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Daniel Pittman.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on Friday, November 16, 2018 at 2pm at Parkview Church in Iowa City (15 Foster Rd, Iowa City). To share a thought, memory or condolence with her family please visit the funeral home website @ www.gayandciha.com.
