26 December 1918 - West Branch Times

Mrs. Harry Blowers passed away at her home six miles north of West Liberty on Saturday morning, Dec. 14, shortly after eleven o'clock. Although she had been in poor health for about four weeks the end came very suddenly following a stroke of apoplexy on Friday evening. Nellie Louise Pfeiffer was born in Iowa City, Iowa on April 4, 1879, and all of her life until her marriage was spent in that place. On Feb. 16, 1908, she was married to Harry W. Blowers who with a daughter, Florence survive. She is also mourned by her mother, Mrs. John Pfeffer of Iowa City, one sister, Mrs. Guy E. Taylor of Broklyn, Iowa, one brother, Roy Pfeffer of Des Moines, who is now serving his country in France. Mrs. Blowers was a woman of many good qualities always anxious for the comfort and happiness of those about her, her whole life being one of unselfish devotion to and service for others. Her old friends and many new ones are saddened by her early passing and sympathize deeply with her family and relatives in this sorrow. Funeral services were held at Hohenschuh's mortuary in Iowa City Dec. 16, Rev. C. R. Sherck of the English Lutheran church officiating. Burial was in Oakland cemetery.
